It's Tuesday, Where Are You?

Today I'm in Japan following various people as they discover the love they share without knowing. This loosely connected set of stories is filled with longing and seeking and shows just how fragile love can be. (The Love We Share Without Knowing by Christopher Barzak)

This was a wonderful book recommendation from Nymeth. Thanks Nymeth!

  1. Ah Japan! I've been missing Japan since I finished Kafka on the Shore. I'm in Middlemarch right now. And probably will be for weeks!

Hope you have a great week, Terri!

  2. I just started Pagan Babies, so I am in Rowanda, circa 2000.

But still in Moscow, 1991, trying to solve a mystery with Arkady Renko in Red Square.

  3. I'm in an odd parallel universe of 1942 - Charles Lindberg is President of the US -- not FDR and the US has signed non-agression packs with Germany and Japan as the US is not involved in the War.

The book --- The Plot Against America by Phillip Roth.

  4. Trish: I just love "traveling" to Japan! I've never read Middlemarch -- another one of those classics I've just never gotten to (yet!).

Rose City Reader: An interesting combination of "places" to be at the same time!

RC: I liked The Plot Against America. I don't always like Roth's books, but this one I appreciated. Then again, I like alternate history stories.

  6. Would this be a good choice for the Japanese Literature Challenge 3? I'll be in Japan on Tuesday any day of the week!

  7. Dolce Bellezza: I think this would be a great choice for the Japanese Literature Challenge. It is written by an American, but he spent several years in Japan as a teacher.
