Today I'm in Dorset and I'm trying to adjust to a move from NYC to the countryside in England. I've also got to adjust to my new stepfather and two stepbrothers. It's a lot of adjusting for a 13-year old girl. I've also found that the "manor" (i.e. huge broken down old house) is haunted and I've had a conversation with an ugly little boggart and with a pretty ghost named Tamsin. Oh ... and my cat, Mr. Cat, has met a nice ghost lady cat. I wonder how that will work out. (Tamsin by Peter S. Beagle)

That is a big adjustment! Especially if the time periods are really different. I'm in Nigeria right now (Half of a Yellow Sun) and just got back from Italy, India, and Indonesia (Eat, Pray, Love). Happy Tuesday!!
ReplyDeleteJust reading this makes me want to read Tamsin again! I can't wait to see what you think of it.
ReplyDeleteI've got out of the merde in Paris (Stephen Clarke - A Year In The Merde) and am currently mixing amongst the Palm Beach Uber Rich Polo Set with Tami Hoag's The Alibi Man
ReplyDeletetrish: Fortunately for the character in Tamsin, the time period has stayed firmly in the present! I still want to read Half of a Yellow Sun. It's on my list :o)
ReplyDeletenymeth: So far I'm LOVING it! I'm sure I'll read other books by this author.
jo: How did you like A Year in the Merde?
Yikes--I AM in the same place!! Well, I took a break from it for some short stories as well as my little Japanese book, so I guess I don't feel too bad.
