A Small Book Haul and a DVD!

Doctor Who Season 6.1 - DVD
I've been watching this series since at least the Tom Baker days!

Witch by Barbara Michaels - Mystery
Bumblesby (Tim) had this one in a book haul and it looked interesting.

A Dance With Dragons by George R. R. Martin - Fantasy
Gah! I think there is supposed to be a number 6 and 7 in this series. Better get back to reading.

Forever by Maggie Stiefvater - YA
Werewolves.

The Diamond of Darkhold by Jeanne DuPrau - YA
Post-apocalypse.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs - YA
Peculiar. Very peculiar.

  1. Loving your hair Terri! And your necklace! (Um, and your glasses and shirt…just loving everything apparently, lol.)

I'm curious about Witch: I didn't get along well w the first Amelia Peabody but maybe I different style would appeal to me more.

Also, I'm impressed by all your Martin readers, but I'm still not sold! lol

How interesting that the print is different colours! Love those covers, but I don't think it's my style read. ;)

  2. Eva: Thanks! I can't tell you how many times I've come *this* close to cutting off all this hair!

I hope I like Witch. I'm taking a chance on it. My husband didn't care too much for the Amelia Peabody books he read, but like you said, perhaps this one has a different style.

I like the idea of the matching print, but I'm not sure how my fussy eyes are going to like reading it. I guess I can include that assessment in my future review!

  3. I'm reading A Clash of Kings right now and LOVE IT! I'm so mad that it took me forever to start reading this series (of course, Sean Bean in the HBO show helped push me). :) And the Miss Peregrine book is one I've had my eye on - I'm looking forward to reading what you think about it! I've heard great things about it!

  4. Lol! I'm cutting mine in the fall (it's too hot in the summers to have even a hint of hair on my neck), but that's because I want my natural colour back so the did hair is mocking me. hehe I'm excited, though: I'm a big fan of the 30s & want a hairstyle like that. :D

  5. What a neat thing with the print in Stiefvater's books! I love it when books use a different colour. ^-^ (The Neverending Story does it too, and all of Cherie Priest's "Clockwork Century" books are printed in sepia rather than black. It's really pretty.)

I'd love to hear about your experiences reading the red print sometime! ^-^ (I'm not sure what the colour on my screen was, but it certainly didn't look like black!)

I hope you'll enjoy all of the books!

  6. Thanks Shanra! I am sooo backed up on my reading. I want to read all my books NOW. I'll try to remember to comment on the colored print in the Stiefvater books.

  7. Ooh, I didn't know that Maggie Stiefvater's books had different coloured print! I love things like that. I was absolutely over the moon when I opened my copy of BONESHAKER by Cherie Priest & saw the sepia print. Just knowing that Stiefvater's books do makes me want to read them.
