This is a post for the The Cynical Kitchen. If you didn't read it yet, get over there and read "The Problem with People" right away. You will be able to relate if you've ever been irritated by people!
I popped Blues For a Rotten Afternoon into my CD player after reading "The Problem with People", and the first song up was "Why are People Like That" by Junior Wells. This one is for you Cynical Kitchen:
They take your love and your money,
They take your sugar your honey,
They take you skinny or fat,
Why are people like that.
They take your house and your home,
They take the flesh from your bone,
They take the shirt off your back,
Why are people like that.
They take your phone and your clock,
Take everything that you've got,
They laugh behind your back,
Why are people like that.
They take your dog and your car,
They promise you'll be a star,
They break your heart and leave you flat,
Why are people like that.
I don't know why they act like that,
Why are people like that.
OK, so there was no mention in the song of inconsiderate and rude neighbors and surly teenage thugs, but the question still stands ... why are people like that?
